The Solana-Beach based nonprofit Kingdom Builder Foundation gave $323,000 in grants last year for community programs ranging from providing food to offering tutoring to families in need throughout San Diego and around the world. The grants ranged from $1,000 to $20,000.
The foundation, which formed in 2007, is an outreach ministry of the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
The organizations that received 2020 grants included:
Casa de Amistad, a Solana Beach-based nonprofit that fosters the education and character development of underserved children, teens and their families, to expand the online tutoring program by hiring “hosts” to serve more students.

Foundation Matthew, an Escondido-based nonprofit that provides a community food pantry and food distribution, to improve client web intake/sign-in and website support.

MONROVIA – A local charity group operating in Liberia has donated a huge consignment of back to school packages to over 40 honor roll students and others attending the Garden of Life Elementary School in the township of West Point in Monrovia.
The group under the banner: Olive’s Project International (OPI) distributed book bags, copy books, pens, pencils and toys, among others to the beneficiaries.
The presentation was made at the school’s premises in the densely populated township over the week end.

As part of efforts to alleviate educational challenges and to enhance the learning process for kids, more than 27 students at the Garden of Life School in West Point have benefited from a non-for-profit organization “Olives Project International (OPI).
The items which were distributed to beneficiaries at different locations in Montserrado on January 15, 2021, included copybooks, pens, book bags, play toys, personal hygiene package amongst others. The beneficiaries also in turn expressed gratitude to the OPI family for the timely gesture.
