Talks of a special session ramp-up as early 2023 election results show Governor Polis's property tax relief plan, Proposition HH, going down in flames.

Despite seeing home values soar by double digits, Colorado voters have rejected lowering their property tax bills by eating into special state tax refunds.

More than 654,000 ballots had been returned as of the end of the day Thursday. With more than 3.9 million active voters in Colorado, that marks a less than 17% voter turnout so far. 

State Republican lawmakers have been vocal in their opposition to Proposition HH, saying it is using a "property tax crisis" to "undermine the Taxpayer Bill of Rights."

On Nov. 7, Colorado voters will decide the fate of Proposition HH, a complicated and important state ballot measure that could impact every citizen, regardless of the outcome.
