Responding to the latest developments, BJP leader and Union minister Giriraj Singh on Friday said Muslims should hand over the Gyanvapi mosque site to Hindus, and said no statements should be made that can disrupt communal harmony.

Ram Janmbhoomi chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das on Friday said the Court should immediately rule in favour of Hindus as the ASI survey report has established that a temple was present there. ASI report was made public on Thursday and the survey found that a “large Hindu temple” existed there prior to the present structure.

The authorities were keen on avoiding any misinformation or unnecessary panic. However, there was a conscious effort to manage any potential conflicts in the area.

The Archaeological Survey has in its report said that Varanasi's Gyanvapi mosque is built on a Hindu temple, India Today reported on Thursday. 

The court said the parties shall give an affidavit to keep the report with them and not make it public after getting the report.

Gyanvapi Case: The Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee has requested the court not to make the ASI report public.
