The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the rains to continue for the next two days, with fog and haze alert in some parts of Pune.

Pune is expected to get light to medium rainfall with a heavy spell or two also expected till November 27 On Saturday morning.

On Wednesday evening, parts of Pune reported very light rain, mostly because of the presence of small patch of cloud over the city.

The revival of monsoon may have brought relief for Pune but not for all places in Maharashtra. Nagpur reported 160mm rain in the last 24 hours, which caused large-scale flooding.

The survey showed that in Pune division's 164 circles, rainfall was absent for more than 21 days. Ahmednagar and Solapur districts have reported the maximum such dry circles — 56 and 67 respectively.

The maximum temperature dropped to 28 degrees Celsius--a significant drop from the 34-35 degreees Celsius that the city had been experiencing since the last few weeks while the minimum was 24 degrees Celsius.

Over the last few days, Pune and its surrounding areas have witnessed temperatures hovering around the 40-degree Celsius mark.

Two persons died in rain-related incidents, while more than 500 people were evacuated from low-lying areas as Maharashtra's Pune district reeled after unprecedented downpour overnight and on Tuesday morning, officials said.
