Indias cab-hailing market has settled into a duopoly, with single-digit growth. A meeting that happened last week in Bengaluru between south-east Asias super app Grab and electric-cab startup BluSmart could shake up the ride-hailing sector out of its slumber.

BluSmart's net loss widened to INR 65.5 Cr in FY22 from INR 39.4 Cr in the previous year. Operating revenue jumped 3.2X to INR 28.9 Cr.

The funds will be used to strengthen its presence in major cities as well as more than double its fleet to 10,000 over the next one year.

BluSmart might finalise the deals with impact funds and private equity investors by the next two months, CEO Anmol Jaggi reportedly said.

BluSmart's Series A1 round is a mix of equity and debt as it comprises $15 Mn equity and $10 Mn as venture debt.
