The Presidency has reacted to a report on President Bola Tinubu's planned visit to Qatar, saying that the 'leaked diplomatic paper' is the handiwork of mischief makers.

The presidency has reacted to a leaked diplomatic memo circulating online that the State of Qatar, turned down Nigeria's proposal to hold an investment forum in Doha. President Tinubu is expected to travel to Qatar between March 2 and 3 on an official visit.

"...the State Visit by President Bola Tinubu to Qatar is on the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, His Highness, Sheik Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani."

This is contained in a memo dated Sunday, February 25, 2024, addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is not the first time a leaked correspondence between Nigeria and Qatar would suggest a rejected visit of a Nigerian leader.
