New Delhi, Dec 7: India's envoy to Qatar met eight ex-Navy personnel - sentenced to death in October for reasons still not known - on Sunday, the government said this afternoon.

India has filed an appeal with Qatari authorities over the death penalty to eight Navy veterans, who were arrested in August last year for reasons still not known.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indian embassy in Doha received another consular access to the detainees on November 7.
