The Australian Institute of Architects’ QLD Chapter has a new President, with Brisbane native Russell Hall taking the mantle from the Gold Coast’s Amy Degenhart after a 12 month period.

Studios open for applications, plus recipients of glass and craft fellowships, winners at DanceRites, Nature Writing Prize and finalists of the National Photography Prize.

The National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) Queensland Chapter will hold its Awards for Excellence on Friday 7 October, showcasing the achievements of female trailblazers in the construction industry.

Spatial and social planner Dr Laurel Johnson (Griffith University) will be joined by three leading medium-density architects working across the private and public sector: Anna O’Gorman (Anna OGorman Architects), Amy Degenhart (DegenhartSHEDD) and Llewellyn Griggs (Refresh* Studio for Architecture). The event will be moderated by Guy Gibson, director of Suburban Futures and former general manager of Lendlease’s Communities business.

Donegal man named President of Irish Australian Chamber THE newly elected President of the Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce is Dungloe man David Greene.
