Northeastern State University’s Sequoyah Institute will feature Northwest Arkansas blues ensemble Brick Fields on Jan. 18.

The orchestra will preview its New York performance with a Saturday concert San Diego at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. Cello great Alisa Weilerstein will be the featured soloist at both events

Northeastern State University’s Sequoyah Institute has announced the 2023-’24 season lineup for its popular performing arts series.

"I dont like to be put in a box. I like to do a little bit of everything. Ozark Mountain Soul to me is just my own flavor of mountain music, country music -- blues/roots/gospel -- all the genres that are like American music," says Opal Agafia when talking about what that term means to her during a podcast with Whats Up!

The Dillon Brouse Quartet performs at 6:30 p.m. today at Cottage Circle at Mount Sequoyah for the ongoing Artosphere festival happening throughout Northwest Arkansas this month. A Northwest Arkansas native and alumni of the Northwest Arkansas Jazz All-Stars, the Dillon Brouse Quartet is a mix of jazz veterans and newcomers with an ear to tradition and eye toward the shape of jazz to come.
