Heavy Rain Alert: After wreaking havoc in several North Indian states, incessant rain has now also moved to the southern states and authorities have urged locals to stay indoors and take precautions.

IMD has issued a red and orange alert in seven states across the county, while light to moderate rains lashed parts of Delhi and NCR in the early hours of Tuesday.

The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall in several other states till July 27. From July 23 to 27, light to moderate rainfall, ranging from scattered to widespread, is anticipated across several areas.

The IMD has issued an important weather update where it predicted heavy rains in multiple districts and states over the course of the next four days.

All schools in Raigad district of Maharashtra will remain closed on Monday after the IMD predicted heavy rains for the region.
