The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Mumbai centre has issued a 'yellow' alert for Monday, predicting moderate to heavy rain in the city. Civic officials said the IMD Mumbai in its Monday morning's daily weather forecast has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

According to officials, the Garhi Mandu village near the Signature Bridge in Wazirabad is submerged. A majority of the people have been taken to safety and the rest are being evacuated on boats.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted heavy rainfall for the next five days in several states including Maharashtra, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and others.

Mumbai Rains Latest Update: The IMD has also predicted light to moderate spells of rain at isolated places in the districts of Raigad, Thane, Palghar and Mumbai during the next 3-4 hours.

Weather alert: Cyclone Biparjoy is centred around 1,060 km south-west of Gujarat’s Porbandar. The cyclone is also likely to trigger rainfall in parts of Gujarat
