Six years after he went missing with his mother and grandfather Alex Batty was found earlier this week wandering along a country road in France and is set for an emotional reunion with his grandmother today

Alex Batty vanished aged 11 when travelling with his mum and grandfather, but miraculously turned up recently, telling the lorry driver who found him he had been 'kidnapped'

Alex Batty is expected to have an emotional reunion with grandmother Susan Caruana back in Oldham, Greater Manchester, in the next few days after he was found in France

Travelling by night, and sleeping rough in gardens by day, Alex Batty spent four long days trekking more than 30 miles, across muddy, rain-lashed, mountainous terrain in his bid for freedom.
