President trump says he is commuting the prison sentence of Rod Blagojevich, freeing the former illinois governor and apprentice contestant from federal prison. Blagojevich was convicted in 2011 for trying to sell Barack Obamas senate seat to the highest bidder. And the president isnt stopping there. Hes also pardoning bernard kerik, whose spectacular fall from new York City Police commissioner and cabinet nominee ended in prison time for tax fraud and other crimes. All in all, the president issued four commutations and seven pardons, including one for 1980s junk bond king michael milken. Weijia jiang reports tonight from the white house. Rod, youre fired.
