Tensions are once again publicly flaring between the Mountain View Whisman School District and the city over how to split millions in taxes.

It took the school board less than five minutes and no discussion at a Dec. 7 meeting to pick its leaders for the coming year, a quick conclusion to a process that has prompted persistent disagreements among trustees.

A majority of Mountain View Whismans school board expressed support at a recent meeting for electing Devon Conley as its president and Chris Chiang as vice president for the coming year, with a formal vote scheduled for next week.
