A new 911 call details the frantic search for a pilot after his small plane crashed in the Florida Everglades in Broward earlier this week.

A pilot crashed his small plane into the Florida Everglades and spent nine hours overnight in the gator-infested waters.

The unamed man spent the night fashioning a makeshift tourniquet out of his shirt as he waited over six hours while alligators circled in the surounding Everglade swamp

Video of the rescue shows the man being hoisted into a helicopter with a handmade tourniquet wrapped around his leg.

The unidentified pilot clung to the submerged wreckage of his small plane for about 6 hours until he was found by rescuers
