Regina Fire said they're working with the Regina Police Service and further investigations are underway, after the lives of four people were lost between two recent fires.

Regina fire services say a passerby reported a house on fire early Saturday.  Crews pulled two occupants from the burning home while another two managed to escape on their own.

In conjunction with police, Regina Fire and Protective Services perform regular biweekly checks mostly in North Central and Heritage areas.

Gordon Block, the century old municipal heritage building in Reginas downtown will be demolished following a fire over the weekend.

Randy Ryba, a Regina Fire Marshal, said the fire was put out early Tuesday morning, and firefighters will be on the scene for the rest of the week.

Funding is now in place to keep Regina’s emergency shelter open past the end of the month.

Regina’s fire department received reports at 4:06 a.m. CST Monday about a fire on the 900 block of Angus St. This is the second encampment fire in the city in a month.
