Community members and local Jewish professionals took part in a life-saving training program called “First 7 Minutes” June 22 at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland in Beachwood.

Magen David Adom, Israels national paramedic service, put on a training event at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue on what to do after a mass casualty attack.

The program, called “First 7 Minutes” — for the amount of time it takes for first responders to reach the scene — demonstrates how people can effectively respond to crises before help arrives.

The Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael was transformed into a training ground Tuesday to explain what needs to be done in the immediate aftermath...

“It was especially meaningful to be here at Chabad of Poway, and we pray this community never has to face another tragedy,” said Magen David Adom senior paramedic Raphael Herbst.

Senior paramedics were flown in from Israel Monday to teach congregants at Chabad of Poway life-saving first aid techniques. Four years ago, a gunman opened fire at the synagogue, killing one person and injuring three others.

At the Chabad of Poway, the site of a tragedy in 2019, community members were trained on how they should respond during a dire emergency situation.
