Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates and lays the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 35,700 crore in Jharkhand. One of the significant projects is the Rs 8,900-crore fertiliser plant of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd in Sindri, Dhanbad district. This is the third fertiliser plant to be revived in the country, following the ones in Gorakhpur and Ramagundam, which were dedicated to the nation by PM Modi in December 2021 and November 2022 respectively.

Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd (HURL) plans to start setting up a nano-urea plant in Sindri within the next three months at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore. The Indian government has instructed all urea producing fertilizer plants to shift from producing neem-coated urea to sulphur-coated gold urea. HURL is contemplating to start setting up the gold urea plant in the next six months. A study for setting up a 60MW solar power plant in Sindri has also begun.

Modi is also expected to lay the foundation stones of projects worth Rs 21,400 crore. The Begusarai public function in the State will mark a significant event for the energy sector when the PM launches oil and gas projects worth about Rs 1.48 lakh crore.
