TGI Fridays is set to undergo a significant transformation, including the closure of dozens of underperforming stores nationwide and the sale of eight corporate-owned restaurants in the Northeast.

TGI Fridays has closed 36 restaurants that it called underperforming, including six restaurants in Maryland and Virginia.

The popular chain restaurant TGI Fridays have closed five locations across New York State.

TGI Fridays shut down dozens of underperforming restaurants this week, including one Pennsylvania location in Montgomery County.

According to news release Wednesday, the TGI Fridays located at 580 North State Road 7 in Royal Palm Beach, Florida was one of 36 TGI Fridays that have closed.

TGI Fridays has permanently closed dozens of restaurants across 12 states, the restaurant chain announced this week. Local media reports indicate that New Jersey was most affected with seven locations closed, six in Massachusetts shuttered and five in New York also gone. Some locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania were also reportedly closed.
