There is a chain restaurant that has been a staple in Guilderland for forty years and this past Tuesday, it permanently closed. Anchoring Stuyvesant Plaza, the eatery is well-known as a family-friendly restaurant.

On Tuesday TGI Fridays announced that it was shuttering over 35 locations and transferring ownership of eight restaurants located in the northeast.

Some fans of TGI Fridays were likely surprised this week when they found their local restaurant permanently closed because the chain abruptly shut down dozens of locations around the US.

TGI Fridays' former CEO will lead eight locations. His involvement will bolster the company's leadership team, the restaurant chain said.
