I am the founder of the Cold War Museum at vint hill, virginia, about 45 miles west of washington, d. C. I founded the Cold War Museum in 1996 to honor cold war veterans, preserve cold war history and educate future generations about the time period. What i realized when i was giving lectures to Highschool Students in the area, 19 times out of 10, the students wouldnt know anything about the cold war or the u2 incident. They would think the u2 incidents have to do with the rock band. As a result, i noticed that they needed to be taught about the cold war. In 1996, we founded the Cold War Museum, which opened in 2011 here at a former Army Communication base near the washington, d. C. Area.
