With the council recently allocating $665K for the final design to be completed, the city is closer than ever to dredge the lake as a way to improve the water quality for future use.
“The path will provide a safer way for people who may prefer walking or biking to the dog park by giving them the option to be off the street to the east side of the dog park,” Public Works Director Joe Schroeder said of the path.
“Rather than give the algae food it needs to survive and thrive, the islands help take that phosphorus and nutrients,” Mayor Bob Everson said of the man-made vegetation islands that the city placed in a bay at Lake Mitchell.
