At its Dec. 19 meeting, the Aitkin County Board approved three low bids for bridge projects in 2024.

A deficient bridge on Viking Boulevard will be replaced under a contract awarded by the Anoka County Board Oct. 10.

The county has been working with Mantrap Township about bridge repair on Island View Drive. It crosses the Sand River. The second bridge is further downstream on CSAH 24.

Crews had hoped to complete the demolition prior to spring flooding along the river, however lingering blizzards and a late bid-date pushed the demolition work well into the summer months.
