X may mark the spot, but you won’t find any buried treasure in one hill along I-90.
Recently Bayer Chemical put on a demonstration of rejuvra, which explains the large green “X” on one of the hillsides of I-90 between Acme and Ranchester.
Rejuvra is a herbicide that stops cheatgrass and other annual grasses, by breaking the cycle of germination and future seed production and increases forage availability.
Andrew Cassiday is the District Conservationist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
He says as a result of the herbicide, the grass that is not affected becomes more green.
