Melvin Cooksey went missing from his home along Mote Road on Feb. 23. On Tuesday, deputies said they arrested 35-year-old Danetta Knoblauch in Louisiana.

Danetta Ann Knoblauch of Wichita, Kansas was charged with murder, aggravated assault, and arson on July 4 in the death of Melvin Cooksey.

Newton County Sheriff's deputies are still looking for a paralyzed Covington man. Authorities said a call to put out a fire soon turned into a missing persons case.

Melvin Cooksey, a partially-paralyzed man from Newton County, has been missing since before a house fire on Feb. 23. Photos of a car possibly related to his disappearance have been released by authorities.

It's been weeks since Melvin Cooksey was last seen and his family and friends are concerned about his wellbeing.
