The Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) harnesses the power of trees, forests and agroforestry landscapes to address the most pressing global challenges of our time – biodiversity loss, climate change, food security, livelihoods and inequity. Vincent Gitz is at CIFOR-ICRAF. He was the Director of the 10-year CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA). An engineer graduate of Ecole Polytechnique in France, he holds a PhD from AgroParisTech on land use and global climate policies, for which he was awarded the Le Monde prize for academic research.
