because my wife is an immigrant. she and her mother came here when she was young. people who decide to leave one country and come to another where they don t know that many people, these tend to be motivated people. people who are making a big huge choice in life. they don t do it so they can sit on a couch and collectwelfare. they come to america to work. they tend to be less criminal, more entrepreneurial. but also, you talk about the false narratives. what about the false narratives we re perpetuating. it s a moral responsibility of large nations to help refugees and immigrants. people fleeing famine, civil war, poverty, these sorts of things. angela merkel referenced that, i believe, it was yesterday, other nations are recognizing this. this is part of the judeo christian effort, when somebody poor comes to you, you help them. to turn our back on the rest of the world doesn t make us better. america s benevolence made us powerful and to turn our back on that is un-american.
road? as we all know, donald trump is the ceo of our country in four days from now. and what he said and what he has continued to say is if there are opportunities to work with russia, so that we can have things which are mutually beneficial like destroying isis. then we should do that if there are ways we can t work with russia, that s okay. but just think of this for a second. actually having a good relationship with other world leaders, what s so bad about that? that s what donald trump has said. let s start with a blank slate. let s go and make sure that if there are places we can work together, we do that particularly destroying isis in syria? what would be so bad about that? brian: you are saying if the russians prove untrustworthy, he will go right back at them just like an opponents? well, lock, donald trump has said from day one, his priority is putting americans first. it is america first. it s america first when it comes to jobs, when it comes to security, when it comes
with 20 days to go, now president obama decides to take action. what about the last eight years? tried to do the reset. that failed. allegedly the white house was hacked but nobody talked about that. china is consistently hacking united states but all of a sudden when his power might not be in power he takes action. the tweet that the russian embassy called him lame duck underscores the larger problem that barack obama has had over the last eight years, the rest of the world doesn t take u.s. seriously. when barack obama told putin to cut it out, just laughs. i would point out quote by the u.s. house of representative jon ryan who said paul ryan saying precisely that. answer was adequate. happy that it came. it is overdue but appropriate way to end eight years of failed
none of you are surprised that donald trump is tweeting some of the things he s tweeting. there s nothing in the twitter world that could surprise us, and certainly, sara, twitter didn t exist when you were working for a president. but what, if any, concerns do you have as you observe what s going on, as somebody who has been on the inside of this? well, i think, you know, donald trump is used to be able to use his twitter account as he was in the campaign where there are few ramifications to a tweet. now as he s the president-elect, soon to be president, the whole world is paying attention to everything he says. when he goes out and makes a statement about nuclear weapons as he just did, the world will react to that. and i think there s going to be a learning curve by the trump administration that a casual comment by him, which may be he means it casually. the rest of the world doesn t take it casually.
