City planner Jason Stewart said the building that housed a thrift store and vinyl truck liner business will be razed to make way for the restaurant.
City Manager John Klimm said the city council approved the site plan with the stipulation that no left turns be allowed from the restaurant and a right-turn-only traffic control lane be added exiting the site.
“General public reaction has been positive,” to the new restaurant, Klimm said. Based on comments on social media, the public has always favored new sit-down restaurants in Rincon. Jenny Stalnaker said she expects about half of the business at the new restaurant to come from the drive-thrus with the other half coming from dining room sales.
