Battlefield 2042 is going into maintenence mode and the team behind the Dead Space remake is helping with whatever's next.

The new team is being led by Philippe Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola, Dead Space remakes executive producer and creative director respectively.

Established in 2021 to develop single player Battlefield campaigns, its duties are not being taken over by Criterion Games.

According to a new rumor, the next Battlefield game is targeting an October 2025 launch and will feature a free-to-play Battle Royale mode.
