Chhotu Vasava, a prominent tribal leader from Gujarat, has formed a new organisation, the Bharat Adivasi Samvidhan Sena (BASS), to fight for the rights of the countrys tribal population. The BTP founder, who previously contested the Lok Sabha elections as a Janata Dal (United) candidate, merged with the BJP after his son Mahesh Vasava joined the ruling party. Vasavas younger son Dilip Vasava is the national vice president of the BAP.
