Saudi Arabia is set to open the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Road Tunnel in Riyadh, making it one of the longest in the Middle East, on February 29.

Work has been completed on Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Tunnel project, being developed as part of the larger King Salman Park project in Riyadh. Running 2,430 m long, it is one of the longest tunnels in Middle East and first of the Park projects to be completed.

King Salman Park is set to develop a SAR4 billion ($1.1 billion) mixed-use project within its premises in Riyadh. Spanning a 290,000 sq m area, it will boast 1,500 residences as well as 140,000 sq m GLA for offices, retail, hotels and leisure facilities.

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) announced the start of the 3rd phase of "Riyadh Bus" service in the city. The project comes as part of King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport, a major pillar of the economic and urban transformation of the capital city to achieve a qualitative leap in the transport sector in line with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia has begun the second stage of Riyadh Bus service adding 223 more buses to serve the capital citys neighbourhoods, providing access to 500 bus stations and stops covering 9 extra routes, including extension of Line 11 dedicated bus lane.

This is to facilitate smooth flow of Umrah pilgrims and visitors in both directions between the two holy cities during the peak annual Umrah season.
