MILLERSBURG  A nearly $2.85 million paving project covering about 31 miles of county roads will be done by Melway Paving Co. The Holmes County commissioners approved the contract Monday at the recommendation of county Engineer Chris Young. Funding for the work is from money set aside from a 0.25 percent sales tax. MILLERSBURG  The workforce of Holmes County is paid comparably to other similar businesses throughout the state. And the good news is, those wages continue to trend upward. Veteran surgeon Dr. Leon Miller was appointed acting Holmes County coroner by the commissioners on Monday. He received the oath of office from Dan Mathie, chairman of the Board of Directors of Pomerene Hospital.
