The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources have expressed a preliminary interest in potentially acquiring a large parcel of city-owned property on the northeastern edge of Detroit Lakes, according to a MN DNR wildlife manager. The nearly 200-acre parcel is mostly low-lying wetlands and located east of the North Industrial Park on Cormorant Avenue, north of Terry Street. Discussions are in the early stages and any potential sale could still be months away.
