Painted Sky Opera bridges political divides in season closing Scalia/Ginsburg performance.

Often tucked away in an orchestra pit or behind a piano, Jan McDaniel has built a reputation in OKC as a musical force behind the scenes.

Painted Sky will perform "Pagliacci," the opening production of its sixth season, at 7:30 p.m. June 11 at Hudiburg Chevrolet Center in Midwest City.

Oklahoman Rather than a "museum piece," Rob Glaubitz considers opera a contemporary art form that can connect deeply with life as we know it.  "I think opera is still very relevant today and has something to say to modern audiences. Thats one of my reasons and my passions for doing modern opera," said Glaubitz, artistic director of Painted Sky Opera. By: News 9 In a little over a week, the Painted Sky Opera will finally be able to perform their production of “La Serva Padrona” and “Service Provider.” It was postponed last May due to the pandemic. Artistic Director Rob Glaubitz and performer Charlie Monnot joined News 9 to discuss the show. The performance will take place at the Civic Center Music Hall.
