More than 300 workers could be back to work as the town of Whitby has come to a tentative agreement with CUPE Local 53. This comes after a month of job action.

A tentative agreement has been reached between the Town of Whitby and the union representing 300 full-time municipal workers, ending a nearly month-long strike.

The Town of Whitby and CUPE Local 53 reached a tentative agreement and the parties are expected to ratify the deal this week.

Talks have broken down between Whitby officials and CUPE Local 53. The union is also claiming the town is attempting to hire replacement workers for an upcoming hockey tournament.

"Overall, I don’t have really much information about that," a police sergeant told Nonpareil about the alleged increase popularity of LSD.

Garbage collection is now on hold in most of Whitby, Ont. after hundreds of union members walked off the job over the weekend.

Expect to see trash piling up in Whitby while garbage collectors and other municipal workers hit picket lines.
