BEDFORD — Facing a divided crowd against and in support of a real estate tax increase, the Bedford County Board of Supervisors voted 4-3 Monday to adopt a tax rate

            The process of selecting an interim District 7 school board member to replace Martin Leamy was the focus of this week's school board actions.             It started with a public hearing held at Liberty High School's auditorium on Feb. 28. All three applicants had time to make presentations.

Voters across the Lynchburg area headed to the polls Tuesday — or already had cast their ballots ahead of time — for a variety of contested and uncontested local contests.
