The cause of an early Friday morning house fire that killed one person was “careless smoking,” according to West Hempfield Township police.

MOUNTVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster County man has died on Friday morning after a house fire. Authorities say 65-year-old Robert Enoch died of injuries sustained in an early morning fire at his Mountville home.

65-year-old's death was ruled accidental after a Friday morning autopsy hours after the fire.

The fire chief spotted the flames on his way to work and called it in.
