Party likely to form the next government should have been rolling up its sleeves to address Quebecers priority issues, like health care.

This province, this country and this city are all weaker today as a result of this new law, and divisions are likely to intensify.

As Bill 96s passage nears, the anglophone community finally seems to be recognizing that if you’re not willing to stand up for yourself, no one else will.

The Canadian Party of Quebec (CaPQ), founded by members of the Exploratory Committee on Political Options, says it is seeking to provide a progressive, rights-centred, federalist option in the upcoming election.

This weeks byelection in Marie-Victorin confirmed the CAQs strong position and shone a harsh light on opposition weaknesses.

A law graduate from Sherbrooke, Que., says many anglophones and minority-language speakers in the province feel left behind by Quebec politicians. He's considering creating a party to represent them.

What Quebecers really require are economic strategies and intelligently targeted cuts to rising recurrent costs and taxes.

Are minorities better off working from within major parties or fighting from outside? While not part of new initiative, I believe the answer is obvious.

A final decision on a party will come "in the next few months."

This unanimous resolution should become another catalyst for debate and introspection about the type of society we risk becoming.
