Mobilizing for dredging the Popponesset Approach Channel is currently suspended due to a crew shortage, according to a Barnstable County notice sent to the Enterprise by Mashpee Harbormaster Robert Tomaino

The Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners authorized the appointment of two Mashpee representatives to advisory groups at their meeting on Wednesday, August 2.

Dredging in the Popponesset approach channel will not begin until several more pieces of equipment make it to Mashpee, harbormaster Robert Tomaino said on Tuesday.

The Mashpee Natural Resources Department will be fully staffed if two pending applicants for seasonal positions come aboard, according to Shellfish Constable Christopher J. Avis.
