Swedish pilots flying the Saab J37 escorted an American Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" safely back to Germany after the speedy spy pilot developed engine trouble.

As capable as the SR-71 was, no aircraft is invincible.

In June 1987, four Swedish airmen risked their lives to save an SR-71 and the aircrew, the U.S. announced this year after the mission was declassified.

The city’s general government fund could drop $1 million. City leaders say the current path is not sustainable.

The union said the water district commissioners let conditions worsen with Dick McKinley in charge.
