Delhi Police uncovered a racket involved in trafficking of Rohingyas from Myanmar through Bangladesh to various regions of India and other foreign nations. Two individuals, one of whom was an agent from Myanmars Rakhine, were apprehended in Hyderabad following the return of a Myanmar couple who had traveled to Russia using counterfeit Indian passports to New Delhi.

India's top counter-terror body, National Investigation Agency (NIA), yesterday (June 5, 2022) filed a chargesheet before a special court in Guwahati against six Indians for their alleged involvement in the trafficking of Rohingya and Bangladeshi women into India.

The NIA filed the charge sheet before the NIA Special Court, Assam, Guwahati, against the four accused.

Fortify Rights, a human rights organization that has been documenting the persecution of Myanmar’s ethnic Rohingya said in a media statement released on Wednesday 13 May that, “Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia should immediately coordinate search and rescue operations for Rohingya asylum seekers and possible survivors of trafficking from Myanmar and Bangladesh who are stranded at sea.” Fortify Rights urged the three governments to “open their borders to asylum seekers and provide surv...
