Four people who go above and beyond for the city were honored on Wednesday by the Salvation Army in Greater Philadelphia.

Baltimore, December 8, 2022 –  On Tuesday, December 6th Mid Atlantic Arts officially welcomed the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico into the regional arts organization family during a special Memorandum of Understanding signing event at the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

Baltimore, November 1, 2022 –  Percussionist, educator, and philanthropist  Roger Humphries  received the 2022 Living Legacy Jazz Award Presented by PECO in a special ceremony on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Kimmel Cultural Campus in Philadelphia, PA.

This effort is part of PECO’s increased investment to expand the region’s urban tree canopy and reap its benefits.

PECO unveiled its ReLeaf initiative on Tuesday, providing the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society with a $200,000 donation along with 1,550 trees to plant in Philadelphia. The power company said its goal is to replace every tree it cuts down with a new one.
