Students studying education at Midlands Tech in Batesburg Leesville can earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree at Voorhees University.

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE – Voorhees University and Midlands Technical College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate the grand opening of the Voorhees University Education Center.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) will recognize nine retiring college presidents and chancellors with the Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Awar

President of Midlands Technical College, Dr. Ronald Rhames says he will retire by June 30, 2024. MTC has six campuses in Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties.

Roland Rhames will step down by July 2024 after eight years leading the college.

The school's Harbison campus sits at the old site of a black agricultural college from the early 1900s.

The agreement allows Midlands Tech students who are taking architecture classes to transfer to Clemson's architecture program with advance standing and without losing any credits. 

Sam and Stephanie Bridgers got their Associate's degrees and were able to walk across the stage together.
