A step toward creating a safe Fort Pierce may reside with the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition.

Most recently, Fort Pierce police rushed to the 1000 block of Sunrise Boulevard in response to an argument between three men that escalated into a shooting.

One of the victims in the Fort Pierce shootings that left three people dead was a 24-year-old man who worked for the city's police department.

FPPD identified the man Sunday as Bernard Smith, 28; and investigators are now trying to determine if he is linked to three more shootings.
