Roundabout Program News Today

Philadelphia has plans to build a new traffic roundabout at the busy South Philly intersection of 20th Street, Penrose, Moyamensing and Packer Avenues. Construction on the project is expected to begin as soon as the summer of 2022 and could take a few years to complete. Roundabouts are intended to improve road safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

About 80% of all traffic deaths and severe injuries occur on High Injury Network roads, which account for just 12% of city streets.
