Paris (AFP) Aug 4, 2023 - The worlds oceans set a new temperature record this week, raising concerns about knock-on effects on the planets climate, marine life and coastal communities.

Copernicus, the EUs weather service, revealed yesterday that the sea surface temperatures reached an average of 20.96C - beating the previous highest logged in 2016 of 20.95C.
