Workers conducted a three-day strike this week to call attention to ongoing contract negotiations with the health care giant. They allege some concerns about wages and unsafe staffing levels haven’t been addressed.

Independence –  Betty Ann Locke, 78 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at ABCM Rehab. of Independence – West Campus.  She was born on October 10, 1942, in Independence, the daughter of Raymond and Ruby Locke.  She graduated from high school in Independence, with the Class of 1961 and was a 1965 graduate of the University of Iowa with a BA in political science/education.
