Sydney Lau, age 22 of Iowa City and formerly New Hampton, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.  

  Last Friday’s “blizzard” ended up dumping only four inches of heavy, wet snow on Belmond. It was less snow than anticipated, but it was perfect for building sculptures during a snow day from school.       This tall snowman had to be re-built after the original one fell over in the above-freezing temperatures.
