This year's distribution day will take place on Dec. 15 at Reach Church.

The Runestone Detachment has headed up the Douglas County area's annual Toys for Kids/Toys for Tots campaign for about eight years.

Boxes for donations of brand-new unwrapped toys are available at area businesses including Fleet Farm, Menards, Walgreens and Walmart.

Organized by the Marine Corps League, Runestone Detachment 1409, Toys for Kids started "about seven years ago" and the Toys for Tots program has been operating locally for the past two years, said program coordinator Grant Haugen.

The program is provided by the Runestone Detachment 1409 Marine Corps League, which partners with Love INC of Douglas County Lakes Area and Reach Church in Alexandria.
