Unknown men corner deceased construction workers’ families, forcing them to sign undertaking that they will not seek justice for the lift collapse

Medical officials at Thane Civil Hospital, where postmortem fo the bodies was held, told The Indian Express that all seven bodies were handed over to their relatives by Monday evening.

According to officials of Thane Municipal Corporation’s disaster cell, the incident at the 40-storey building took place in the evening when the labourers were coming down in the elevator after completing their work. The elevator shaft broke and the lift collapsed to the basement of the underground parking, they said.
